Scope of this Standard
This standard specifies minimum requirements for the installation, inspection, testing and maintenance of electrical wiring to ensure practical safeguarding of persons and property from hazards associated with the use of electricity. These requirements apply to electrical wiring of voltages up to 600 V a.c. This standard does not apply to installations operated by statutory supply authorities for generation and distribution of electrical power. NOTE This standard is not to be regarded as a design specification or as an instruction manual.
